In 2010 the Santa Cruz County Community Coalition to Overcome Racism was awarded a $150,000 grant by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. The group was founded after the Santa Cruz Police Department was identified as possibly racially profiling Latinos during the 2006 halloween celebrations Downtown.
